On 30th April, 2014, NASA launched the High Definition Earth Viewing (HDEV) experiment aboard the International Space Station (ISS).


Several HD cameras are mounted on the European Space Agency's Columbus module and are streaming live video of the earth below.


You can see where the International Space Station is currently travelling here.


Occasionally, the live video will turn grey and black, as the feed switches between the different cameras, or travels in darkness. There may also be signal loss (for as long as 30 mins), which will result in no picture or previously recorded video being shown.
