Liam is a keen traveller, despite having never flown on an aeroplane until the age of 18! Ever since taking his first flight, he's caught the travel bug and likes to go on holiday a few times a year.
The sense of adventure and discovering the sights, culture and cuisines of different parts of the world is what Liam enjoys most about travelling.
He also likes to experience the different climates of the places he visits and how that influences the way in which the local population live their everyday lives.
So far, most of Liam's travels have been in Europe and North America, but he would like to visit other continents as well.
In North America, Liam's favourite place so far has been San Francisco. The coastal location, excellent views and temperate climate makes it a great place to visit. He found travelling around so easy, the people really friendly and the city not too overwhelming.
Whilst in San Francisco he walked across the Golden Gate Bridge, took a night tour on Alcatraz (quite spooky) and drove up the coast to Bodega Bay (the setting for the 1963 Alfred Hitchcock film, The Birds).
In Europe, Liam's favourite place is Barcelona. He finds that the city has a great vibe about it, with plenty to offer everyone. The wide avenues, street side cafes as well as some great architecture make it a really interesting place.
Liam enjoyed visiting the Olympic Village whilst he was there, as well as being in awe of the amazing architecture of Gaudi and his highly individualistic designs. With plenty of parks and open spaces, in addition to the beaches and warm climate, Barcelona has so much to offer!
Liam's most recent destination was Vancouver in Canada. He managed to get there on his second attempt, after the first had to be cancelled due to the Icelandic volcano erupting and the volcanic ash closing UK airspace.
