METEOROLOGIST

Liam is a qualified weather forecaster, having completed the Met Office IFC qualification at the Met Office College in Exeter.

Weather is something that has interested Liam from a young age, and he has maintained this interest in some shape or form ever since.

After realising that he would like to pursue weather as a career, he opted to study Maths, Geography and Physics at A-Level, before going on to gain a BSc. Hons in Geography at the University of Wales, Swansea.

Liam joined the Met Office in October 2002 working at the BBC Weather Centre in London, where he received an array of meteorological training – ranging from broadcast meteorology to global weather forecasting.

January 2007 saw Liam undertake further meteorological training at the Met Office College in Exeter, before spending some time working as a commercial and aviation forecaster.

Liam returned to the BBC Weather Centre in September 2007 to broadcast UK and world weather on a variety of BBC channels.

In November 2011, Liam joined Channel 4 News as its first ever weather presenter. As the programme's weatherman, his role is to provide TV broadcasts, bring analysis and insight to weather-related stories on the programme, and engage with viewers through social media.
